Warrant deal tied to plantation agency in Honolulu
A complex plan to take up all Territorial warrants is reportedly near in Honolulu with half a million dollars ready. Acting Governor Atkinson and Treasurer Campbell name a single money man tied to a plantation agency. Banks resist relinquishing warrants while County officials seek monthly disposal at par. The scheme hinges on a plantation agency cashing monthly warrants, with local and coast credit involved and bank concerns voiced.

Trustee Kellett Short In Accounts In Tareto Estate Case
Clerk M T Simonton reports to the Circuit Court master on the estate of Manual A Tareto. The master finds many Kellett accounts lack proper vouchers and some charges were never paid. Kellett was appointed trustee Dec 17 1990 with a $3 bond. Shortages in rent and interest, plus $258.35 in addition errors, are noted. A lease with Ueda caused a $90 fire insurance charge that the master says should be repaid as insurance did not exist. Other irregularities include $954.40 for heir support and $834.40 for taxes. The will directs income to be divided.

No Juries as Judges in Circuit Court Next Year
Circuit Judges De Bolt Robinson and Lindway wrestle with whether it is possible to draw jurors for the rest of the year. Debate centers on the new jury law which the late Legislature framed with doubts. The law requires jury commissioners to prepare lists by December 15, naming 260 trial jurors and 75 grand jurors for the circuit.
