In Highland Light Massachusetts on July 15 an eight inch shell charge exploded in the Georgia battleship turret killing Turret Captain Thatcher and Seamen Goldthwaite Hamilton Thomas Miller and Burke. Sixteen men were injured.
E. J. Zimmer Vice President of the Pacific States Telephone Company refused to answer questions in the trial of President Glass for bribery. He was committed to jail for five days for contempt of court in San Francisco on July 15.
A bomb exploded before the American Embassy summer quarters in Constantinople injuring four persons. In Berlin, the Japanese Ambassador Inouye has been recalled and is expected to join the Elder Statesmen.
AP report from Tokyo notes Foreign Minister Hayashi traveled to Korea in disguise. The item also mentions market data from Beets with parity at 3.99 cents and a July San Francisco freight note for the W. H. Marston schooner carrying a full cargo of cigars.
