McBryde Bond Deal Now With Completion Report
W A Kinney announced the McBryde bond deal is completed with plans to take up the first leg of bonds by January 1 1906. The exchange of first mortgage bonds for second shares can be delayed but not stopped, and bondholders may swap to the new issue to reach the same end. Market chatter about the deal stirred earlier speculation, but the directors and Bank of Hawaii expect the stock near par by year’s start as the plantation stays able to produce sugar cheaply.

John P. Spalding 23 of Kotoa Kauni died in this city at 4:20 this morning of pulmonary tuberculosis. The remains have been embalmed and will be shipped to Kotoa tomorrow. Deceased was former auniatamt pontmaster at Kolo.
