Wonsuit Motion Granted in Kalacokokol Case
In the case of W. R. Kalacokokol v. Watluku Sugar Co the court granted the plaintiff's motion for non-suit. The judge ruled that Kanatun's grandparents did not stand in an inheritance relation to him, preventing the plaintiff from inheriting from Kanatun via those lines. The decision hinges on the 1859 statute as it stood in 1877, noting later amendments changed to allow grandparents as heirs in certain kinless cases.
