Admiral Togo reports that during fog in Lingnan Bay on July 6 a Russian mine struck the gunboat Raimon causing it to sink. Three officers including Commander Takahashi and nineteen enlisted men were lost while the remainder were saved. The message was sent to the Japanese Consul in Honolulu.
L. Cogrper applied to the Territorial Government for a lease of Diamond Head proposing a windbreak plan and a high perched castle idea. He envisions a pest proof vineyard orchard and truck garden high above the crater with a trail, farm pack line, and market delivery to Honolulu. The lease request is not yet acted on and sits with other matters.
Judge Robinson grants Emelia Neitle Ernetberger a divorce from Louis Kranberger on grounds of intemperance and infidelity. Re A Douthitt designated for libel and guardianship of the minor children to the mother.
The British ship Juteopolia, overdue on the New York to Penang run, has been spoken after weeks of delay. Reports to the Acting Governor outline progress on the Mawail affair, with plans to present to the Secretary of the Interior. Four hundred men are being pulled off by the Road Department for June work.

A Rapid Transit car struck a carriage at Wilder avenue and Kewalo street this forenoon, tossing Mrs McArthur and another woman into the street. Both were badly shaken, with Mrs McArthur unconscious. They were taken to a neighboring house for aid. the rig was damaged.
The Japanese gunboat Kaimon was sunk by mine in Taliman Bay with twenty one men missing. In Henley England S Choles of Toronto won the diamond allure from Grouth, Time, in 8:23, beating the existing record.

Parker, seek to sell the minor’s land to aid Hamakua Ditch Company for irrigation, claiming need for right of way and potential addition to Pasuhaw Plantation holdings. guardian A. W. Carter opposes.
The Philippine Commissioners were entertained here as they stopped over on their way to the Worlds Kite gathering in St Louis. They were greeted warmly by residents and the acting Governor of Hawaii welcomed them, noting the praise from the War Department in Washington. The event highlighted cordial relations and public interest in Philippine affairs as the commissioners journeyed toward the coast.

Detectives Mer and Reneay nearly died during a rooftop entry on Smith Street as they planned to break into a Chinese gambling den. They crawled across roofs amid slippery tiles and barbed wire defenses, but avoided capture after a dramatic rooftop escape. Thirteen Chinese suspects were later arrested and await court.
Yamada Taumagore, a Japanese fisherman living on King Street, drowned near the Ta Harbor after his small boat capsized in rough surf off Waikiki. Rescue efforts found him missing, and authorities believed he may have been eaten by a shark. The craft was recovered and towed to harbor.
