Karpal Railroad plans inland lime industry on Kauai
On Kauai the Karpal Railroad Company advances a project to develop a inland lime industry along ridges near Makayleyun and Koloa. A large highgrade lime deposit, once ocean bed, will be mined for sugar plantations and fuel the plant with electricity from Wainiha. Treatment will reduce lime imports and lower costs for the plantations.
