Opium Seized at Quarantine Station Arrest

Yesterday afternoon Jack Mc Veigh arrested Wong Tai at the quarantine station and had him moved to the police station. A basket belonging to the man held four fulae, three Bologna sausages with opium, and a large tin with about ten pounds of sopium hidden in the false button.

Pig Cane Case Ends with Not Guilty Verdict

In Police Court, J A Magoon was acquitted of a common nuisance charge over a pig pen issue. Sanitary Inspector Charlock testified about conditions, Magoon defended that he fixed the pen after a prior complaint, and Judge Wilcox discharged him.

The Ma Hawaiian Rifle Association announces its semi annual shooting starting Tuesday January 17 at the Kakaako grounds. Entries close Monday January 16. Soldiers moved from Post to Panchbow Battle Hospital

Between ninety and a hundred men have been moved from the Post to the Panchbow hospital where they are reported to be doing well. A rumor claimed removal to Paseh bow hospital, but Dr Waed denies it, noting Buena Vista hospital and Ponchbowia both need staff. only ten men remain at the Bost hospital and they are too ill to move.

Crank the ship cook beaten aboard St Francis

The ship St Francis crew faced a violent incident as Crank, the Negro cook, was beaten while drunk. He suspects sailors aboard the vessel played a role in his injuries and recalls a prior assault on a crew member. He decries violence as improper.

Mohie Bark Runs Afloat After Ashore Incident

The American bark Mohie ran ashore near Miowern, unable to clear the reef as wind failed. A tug boat responded, guiding Mohie back to sea after a tow and checks showed the vessel in passable condition.
