Bottle message voyage notice from early Honolulu harbor
On January 4, 1808 between 4 and 5:10 pm twelve sealed mottles were set adrift outside Honolulu harbor shouting three fathoms of water. Ten bottles dropped between Honelili Thurber Hores and Spar Hell Heys region, one at Hell Bury, all white and rumored to confer favor if returned to the Interior Office with approximate locality details.
