Grant Battles Rough Voyage and Bakers Strike Delays

The US Army transport Grant arrived from San Francisco at about 10 40 PM and anchored by Naval wharf No 1. Weary voyage through heavy seas and gale winds delayed the ship two days and damaged several forward ventilators. Bakers on strike forced crew shortages. 200 troops and civilians are aboard en route to the Philippines with Lt. Col. Charles H Noble in command. The ship will coal 800 tons and depart for Monit none tomorrow evening.
