Circuit Court matters report Judge Stanley starting the divorce calendar with Mele Uli et al versus Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar Company, a demurrer joinder by A G Correa attorney for plaintiff. Halei ya Kaunwana native ejectment jury discharged at 10 80 p m after rolling 6 to 6. January term expenses totaled 1064.54. Fernandes versus Silva et al. was submitted for decision after argument before Judge Perry.
After business last night the Red Men staged a novel dog eating contest. Participants used tamale hash as a tasting setup served on wooden plates with pewter spoons and ample red pepper. Tension rose among the crowd leading to a stampede toward a water tank as the main attraction concluded.
Harry Armitage conducted an auction on the Jadd lot at Fort and Merchant streets. Ladloff bought the corner wooden building for 170 and the rear sheds for 840. Fred Harrison paid 540 for the brick building, and a Chinaman paid 200 for the Annexation headquarters.
