Company D National Guard Meeting Reverses Ouster of Officers

A late night drill shed session of Company D Hawaii National Guard rescinded previous action refusing to sanction overtures to Captain Wall of the Sharpshooters. Colonel McLean and Major Jones condemned the prior conduct, stressing loyalty to superior officers and warning of court martial for similar actions.

Concert for Molokai Leper Settlement Aids Steamship Passengers

The steamship Menowal carried Ovide Musin his wife and Edward Sebarf among its passengers. On the voyage Musin agreed to perform a concert for charity. Proceeds were donated to the Molokai leper settlement after a quick subscription event, showcasing Musin's renowned musical talent alongside fellow travelers. Annie Louise Musin also known worldwide, noted for her vocal range.

The Time magazine to feature arts and living sections

A Honolulu publication, The Time, will publish this afternoon a women focused issue with religion philanthropy art education society children girls and men and boys. It will include original poems stories and an article by Kate Meld about Honolulu cost of living with a market list and Hawaiian recipes. Illustrations by Mrs Isobel Strong are praised and advertising space is filled. The excursion to Waianae is highlighted as a cheerful note.

Christmas Celebrations at Central Union Church

The Christmas program begins Sunday the 22d with a 9:45 a.m. Sunday School service and processional singing. Christmas Day service is at 11 a.m. with special music and a Birnie sermon, followed by evening prayer meeting. Friday features the Sunday school festival for scholars.

Night School Opens January Sixth By City Board

The Board of Education will start a night school January sixth at Fort Street School House led by J Lightfoot vice principal of the High School. It will operate nightly except Saturday and Sunday from seven to nine. Tuition is free and students must show diligence in study.

The President received the letter of recall from Minister Moe Wasiisaron, and Francis M. Hatoh was formally introduced as his successor. The ceremony occurred in the White House Blue Room with Secretary Olney present.

Day's charity circus for lepers on Molo Kai

Wirth's circus performs for the benefit of the lepers on Molo Kai. Every artist in the troupe donates their talent for the evening to aid the unfortunates.

Christmas edition planned for Honolulu Bulletin

The Bulletin announces a mammoth Christmas edition prepared over two months and led by Manager Pinney. It will feature 28 pages, 140 columns of Brevier type, over fifty half tone engravings, three color cover, and original Christmas poem by Mrs. B. Dillingham. Noted contributors include Daniel Logan, Philip Dodge, J. Daniel, Ralph Durnee, Rev. S. E. Bishop, George Manson, Wray Taylor, and others. Five thousand copies planned with limited regular printings and advance orders at 609 King Street.
