The American schooner Alpha under Captain Cabel anchored off the Irmgard wharf at 11 16 a m after a 23 day voyage from San Francisco. She carried about 1900 tons of general merchandise including Christmas goods for Hackford Co and faced heavy weather, calms, and heavy swells en route.
