A Porto Rican man living with his wife in an old saloon on Liltha near Vineyard Street attempted suicide by hanging himself from a partition at about 6 10 AM after an argument with his wife. A passing neighbor cut him down, he was revived after a difficult resuscitation and taken by patrol wagon to the police station. he was later released after promising not to attempt suicide again.
Commissioner Wray Taylor and Rotomologist Perking of the Agricultural Department inspected a consignment of plants from Japan. A soil sample contained larva, prompting dumping into harbor to prevent infection. other samples were fumigated and deemed healthy.
