Atkinson seeks Hawaii sanitary commission with Roosevelt

Acting Governor Atkinson says he is drafting a letter to President Roosevelt urging a sanitary commission in Honolulu modeled after Havana and other sites. He notes Hawaii’s future direct link to the Isthmus via the American Hawaiian line and Tehuantepec rail plan, praising the Board of Health and sanitation work while hints of a continued report on page 8.

Korea Will Not Stop Honolulu on Taft Homeward Trip

Revenue Cutter Demand for Hawaii From Chamber of Commerce

Labor Day Outing by Honolulu Trades and Labor Council

The Honolulu Trades and Labor Council held a Labor Day outing at the Peninsula with afternoon games and evening dancing. Tickets with railroad fare cost 75 cents, and special trains departed city stations at 2 15, 3 20, 5 15, and 7 30 p m with return trains from the Peninsula at 4 30, 8 30, 7 80, and 11 20 p m Tickets are sold by council members or at the depot. Captain Begne of the German warship Condor paid a formal call on Acting Governor Atkinson.
