A crowded police court heard Eddie Jones charged with first degree murder. Deputy Sheriff Chillingworth testified about the scene after Joyce’s death on August 22 at a Waialua home, detailing the body, blood, and clothing found. Jones, escorted by Dolo vive McDute, answered questions with warnings that statements could be used in the trial.

In Sofia on August 31 the Bulgarian insurgent force reports 15,000 men assembled and says an open declaration of insurrection against the government will be made immediately.
