OD SUR-EATER DEAD IN TENEMENT MARKS LOCAL OD DEATH

An elderly Hindu pensioner of the Pritieh Berevorest Society named Kodo was found dead in his River and Ru ud street tenement. Born in Calcutta, he reportedly consumed opium regularly. Deputy Rhod Jarrett Dr Pratt and City Sanitary Officer Tracy determined death resulted from opium indulgence. No inquest will be held.

Frear Inaugurated Governor of Territory of Hawaii

Walter F. Frear is sworn in as Governor of the Territory of Hawaii in the Capitol Throne Room. Carter retires to private life after farewell address as dignitaries, consular corps, and military officers attend the simple ceremony. A seventeen gun salute marks the event. Continued on Page 4.

Santa Rita Tender Reported Due In Port

The oil steamer Santa Rita under Captain Dickson arrived this morning docked at Hackfeld wharf with oil for the port after a nine day voyage from Port Hartfort. Captain Conner, previously in command, is ill and did not come ashore. Pleasant weather prevailed except two days of rough seas. No damage reported. The Santa Rita passed the steam schooner Florence Ward last Thursday bound here and expected tomorrow. The Ward serves the cable company carrying provisions between this port, Guam, and Midway Island.

San Francisco report says the wire service, crippled by telegraph operator strikes, is improving nationwide. Entries note motion pictures at the Hotel Baths on Saturday night with admission set at 26 cents.

A reorganization of the Supreme Court occurred this morning at Yelock, creating a new bench to tackle weighty Territory issues. Despite inclement weather a sizeable crowd attended, including Circuit Court and District Court judges, members of the bar, ladies, and close friends.

Galbraith Named on Oklahoma Election Board Seat

The Daily Oblite reports J. 0. Thompson sent Governor Frants the nomination of G. A. Galbraith of Ada as the Democratic member of Oklahoma's state election board. Galbraith, former attorney general and ex Hawaiian supreme court appointee, has practiced law in Ada. The board will include the governor and two party representatives from the top vote getters, with a contest noted in the Fifth district over Scott Ferris versus Claude Weaver.
