The United States Navy transport Solace arrived from Manila and Guam, docking at Na val No. 2 about 7:10 a.m. after a voyage that included calls at Cavite, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Guam. En route she assisted the British ship Brodick Castle, which reported broken chronometers and navigational uncertainty eleven hundred sixty miles west of Honolulu, with Solace supplying a chronometer and provisions. The Solace later announced its arrival by wireless, and crews tried to contact Kauai Station but received no replies, while operator G. C. White noted instrument adjustments during the voyage.
