New YMCA Building Adds Lecture Hall Baths and Class Rooms
The Honolulu YMCA addition expands the original 1882 structure with a large assembly hall, a 14x44 foot bath annex, a 23x14 foot parlor, and a redesigned reading room. New lockers use combination keys, and a needle shower bath along with multiple other baths and 84 lockers enhance member facilities. The upper floor houses three class rooms and several storage and service spaces. The project, costing between 15,000 and 16,000 dollars, reflects extensive interior remodelling led by Secretary Corbett, with a current membership around 300 and plans for growth.
