A Honolulu shop proclaims a wide range of garden goods from tees and rakes to hedge shears and hand axes. It touts English wake hedge shears, urges buyers to judge by quality, and notes its name over the door guarantees both quality and price.

Hawaii leads in exports to China and Mexico remains a large importer of cotton and silver bullion, while Hawaii sugar dominates imports. The year ends with Hawaii’s total exports reaching 4,801,040 and a notable rise from the prior year despite sugar shipments direct to New York.

Chang Hung admitted running an unlicensed tenement. sentence suspended. Seven natives pleaded guilty among harbor fishers. three Portuguese seek trial next week. Kalua Kaahai and Anihea, opium smokers, pleaded guilty. Kalua fined 50 and costs. others sentenced with suspended terms.
At Ukiah California during a Queen's Hospital event Mr Eckardt purveyor to the hospital overheard remarks by young ladies about a man from Honolulu. He passed five cards to the group and became the center of attention as they dubbed him the black man from Honolulu.
The Second Regiment of the California National Guard held a monthly practice at Shell Mound park San Praves. Company 1 members showed strong results at 200 yards with ten shots. Lt W Tobin 48 and Lt Haber 47 led, others scored in the 43 to 45 range. Huber and his two bullets near the bullseye drew praise as a near miss for the "roam bite."
