A Honolulu controversy centers on the Ludwig party and conductor disputes over tallyho rides and a $40 to $55 volcano excursion. Miss Ludwig defends charges as miscommunication while promising refunds to any overcharged guests.
The Promotion office was told the Volcano ticket cost 19 dollars while Mies Ludwig charged 5 dollars per party member for the HY ticket. Ludwig claimed personal expense reimbursements and potential transfers of tickets. Some party members left, and plans shifted with Ludwig proposing ticket transfers to another woman awaiting a boat. The Hawaii Promotion Committee says its relations with Ludwig’s party were distant and it bore no responsibility for organizers or overcharges beyond the Volcano tickets.
