Dedication of Waivee church and Maui events

A new Waivee church in Lahaina, a wooden Gothic edifice with stucco exterior, seats 450, was dedicated with a sermon by Rev. Stephen L. Deals and remarks by Dr. Bishop and Senator Baldwin. Monday included Sunday school discussions for Maui Molokai and Lanai, a banyan-tree feast, and expected attendance of 670 at the courthouse yard. Infant corpse found near Kakans ko flats by marine railway

Yesterday afternoon natives recovered a dead infant from mud near the retaining walls by the marine railway opposite the cholera hospital. The body lay under kinwo trees, judged to be a week old or stillborn. Police notified. a native constable removed the corpse by wagon on marshal’s orders to avoid investigation.
