Elsie Adair consented to appear once in the local Opera house before proceeding to the States. Her program will be put on a week from this evening. She promises all of her old specialties, and will introduce an improved vitascope noted for its steadiness and clarity. Opera folk should mark the date.

Market strains push coal prices up while lines deem scarce cargoes, with four ships due and one delivering 1100 tons to Oceanic Steamship Co.
Yesterday Master Mechanic Roberts tested the new 47 ton engine Reciprocity on the Outu road. The heavy locomotive performed perfectly and will enter active service as soon as the road reaches Waialua, about a month away.
