Third Circuit Court Calendar at Kalina Records 47 Cases

British Learus Arrives From Home Port Then Heads to Esquimalt

Forest fire quelled after local force aids from Nawava Pass

At Tantalae on Saturday a forest section burned briefly before Porceter Haughs force from the Nawava Pass arrived with government nursery Japanese troops and, with Minister King and Commissioner Wray Taylor, Contained the flames. The blaze scorched a stand of young trees while spectators at the cricket bleachers bantered and cheered. A notable crowd moment came when a boy urged the batsman to buy Rainier Beer for vitality.

Valley Tens Courts Open with Gala Tennis Reception

The Valley Tennis Club opened its new courts in Honolulu with a grand reception attended by members of nearby clubs and residents. Mrs Damon, Mrs Nichola, and Miss Damon led the reception committee. refreshments included salads, sandwiches, ice cream, and lemonade as three courts hosted successive sets. The club, led by President Dr A B Nichole, will host ladies days and a junior program via the Y M C A with Allan Judd coordinating youth activities.
