Board of Health considers tuberculosis controls and leper reports

The Board of Health met yesterday with Ministers Cooper and Mon sarrat and officials present. Dr. Emerson reported tuberculosis suppression regulations and the leper settlement needs a specialist for eye disorders, as well as requests for housing and two donkeys for a leper woman. A contract for beef supply to the leper settlement was awarded to W Meyer and partners for six months.

Police Court News Roundup in Four Chinese Charged

Four Chinese charged with conspiracy and two with possession had their cases set for trial on April 6. Virginia P. Castro was fined 10 dollars and 83.40 cents for assaulting a female neighbor of her own nationality. Bang Hop pleaded guilty to being a grower. Yamashigi, yard man at the Sailors' Home, accused by Superintendent Bluxsone of stealing a pair of blankets. Five Chinese gamblers were fined 10 dollars each. Boto, & Japanese forfeited fines rather than answer a charge of drunkenness. Chas Noleon was fined 33 dollars and costs for the same offense.
