The Superintendent of the Telegraph Line from Evansville to Vincennes began wiring on Thursday. Sufficient wire has arrived to reach Princeton, about halfway, with the remainder expected in a few days. Look out for news about the Tid of August.
The Major Barbour steamer will be at the wharf at 8 a m Monday to carry the visiting company to Henderson and back. Fare is 50 cents each way. Expect high crowds and ample arrangements for all who go.
A political sketch denounces the locos who sneer at Old Zack and attack Col Collier’s Buena Vista remark. It recalls New York’s Bouck campaign with banners proclaiming the Old White Horse and the absurd image of a centaur guiding the state.
