The bridge and hotel cost 6000 and 5000 with no insurance.
From Santisco de Cuba on December 8 insurgents armed with cutins sacked Favopa a fishing village near the Moro fortress They killed ninety seven including two women and burned homes The defenders withdrew and the village was quatered later corpses partly baked reported by a brig at Santiago and by steamers rumormongering of Hermet bear expedition.
John H. Surratt canceled a planned lecture in Washington after a warning from or Emery about strong local opposition. The Mayor advised withdrawal to prevent trouble, as reports suggested many would protest the event regardless of any outcome.
The court action in Cinchanati targets Sausger principal and Ohailes W Buchanan and J Workum as sureties for about 15 000 in delinquent taxes. Weather turns warmer with a west wind and chances of rain. thermometer reads 43.
