Henry E. Randall of Umatilla pursues inlaid furniture from woods grown in Florida. A 50 year wood collector, he and wife Evelyn run Randall's Wax Works in Moore Haven area, producing beeswax goods for cosmetic, candle, and craft markets with 10 million pounds processed over 30 years.
Mayor E L Williams of Eustis Florida proclaims July 4 1967 a patriotic festival calling all citizens to ring every bell at 2 00 p m EDT to celebrate the nations 191st birthday and emphasize patriotism across the city.
The American Medical Association urges tetanus shots and careful use of lawn mowers and pesticides while listing gardeners on travels. The column then catalogs residents and guests away for the summer in Florida, Maine, North Carolina, Italy, New York, and Ohio, with several local families visiting relatives and pursuing vacations.
Milton D. Meyerson, former Washington Post display editor and wartime radio man, joins the display advertising staff of Eustis Lake Region News after service at Leesburg Commercial and John H. Perry papers. He served aboard the destroyer That Cher and participated in the NC4 transatlantic flight era, with family military ties and ties to local growth goals for Eustis and Lake County.
The Eustis Major Division Orioles, coached by Jim Adams and Neal Barrow, defeated Rolling Hills of Orlando 3 to 1 to claim the right to continue in the Top Team Tournament. Robbie Ball pitched a no hit bid and hit a fourth inning homer, with Dennis Smith homering in the ninth to seal the win. Next game is Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Ocoee. The Eustis Cubs won senior division and will play in Casselberry on Saturday July 1 at 4 p.m.

Kelsey join 27 colleagues in a National Science Foundation Oceanography Summer Institute at Florida State University from June 18 to July 29. New residents include Ed Folley and spouse moving from Minnesota to Pine Ridge Road Three Lakes Subdivision, J J Rhyne from Norman Oklahoma to 514 Washington, Betty Jane Robinson from California to Grand Island Shores, and Gerald Hutcheson from Dublin Georgia at 501 Hill. Col R Robinson will answer calls Saturday July 1 for Kiwanis Auction Sale transportation donations.
Miss Priscilla Rayburn returned from Tallahassee where she attended Girls State a government program by the American Legion Auxiliary now in its 22nd year. She was elected to the House of Representatives and served as director of public works for the mythical Wakulla city whose inspectors rated the city twice. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs John M Rayburn of Eustis.
Eustis businessman and church leader L L Polk died at a local hospital at age 70. He lived at Crooked Lake Estates and served as deacon for 35 years at First Baptist Church. Polk held Gulf Oil roles since 1920 and led Lake County Fair Association from 1939 to 1967. Funeral set for First Baptist Church of Eustis.
