Annexation petitions heard by city commissioners
Two annexation requests were reviewed by the city commission on Monday. One group of 23 property owners led by T L Hayes seeks annexation along Hollywood and Virginia avenues. T W Bradley also seeks to annex property at the site. The annexations were referred to the annexation committee. The meeting reviewed a new survey map showing road rights of way, authorized by a recent state bill. The board discussed an industrial park site for a trailer convention, recommending a three row tree buffer and a soil analysis to assess a possible lake. Pinehurst Street will be paved with crown type construction and Miami curbing, with paving liens allocated to property owners and the city covering one third of the cost. The commission set Friday June 25 at 8 p m to consider catering service bids for the new community center.
