Baseball School Begins July 5
A baseball school for fourth to sixth graders runs 9 to 10 30 a m Monday through Friday at the high school field starting July 5. A softball league is now in session each morning at the field.
Local unit seeks 36 recruits for 79 man quota
The 3rd Battalion 124th Infantry launches an intensified recruiting drive to add 36 men to reach a total of 79. The age range is 17 to 35 for both veterans and non veterans, with openings in clerical, linesman, switchboard, intelligence, engineer, radio operator and maintenance roles. Unit members earn 2.50 to 8 weekly at the Eustis Gun Club 8 to 10 25 p.m. July 22. Field training at Fort Jackson provides Army pay from 45 to 145 for master sergeant.
