The Eustis summer recreation plan aims to serve about 300 children with sports water safety band and other directed projects over two months starting June 15. Memory Martin Supervising principal notes swimming camping baseball softball crafts tennis and square dancing as key activities with new Friday night square dancing at the American Legion building. Local clubs Kiwanis Rotary and community leaders attend the planning meeting and pledge support while the county provides a bus if gasoline donations cover costs.

Diversified Cooperative Training Program Yields $12700
Eustis and Leesburg high school juniors and seniors who competed in the Diversified Cooperative Training program earned $12,700 during the school term ending this week. Thirty seven students are enrolled in the earn while you learn classes across the two schools. The program operates one year in Eustis and four years in Leesburg, with Chester Crowder and Ray Cooper serving as coordinators.
