Birthday celebration at Tourist Center draws hundreds
The Annual Birthday event at the Tourist Center gathered about a hundred members of the Tourist Club. Tables honored attendees with seating arrangements led by Mrs. Straton and others. An invocation by Rev. Da preceded a hour of piano performances, solos, and recitations. The program featured a "Modern Sermon" and Elizabeth’s singing, with past-year remarks by Mrs. Ludlow and Mrs. Nooney. Shuffleboard tournament entries and skill events were announced for late month.

Tragedy Strikes Fishing Party as Man Drowns in Lake
William R. Stant a 33 year old from pee Va drowned while fishing with his wife and a ten year old girl in Lake Its white swin last Friday. He disappeared after diving for a swim when a cramp struck. His wife could not reach him due to unfamiliar boat operation officials said. Rescue crews spent nearly two days dragging the lake until Stant's body surfaced ashore at Villa Lagoon trailer park.
