Hamlin Wins City Post in Eustis Election
Hamlin was elected city commissioner of Eustis to a four year term, defeating three challengers in a 678 vote general election. He led with 392 votes, followed by Glenn Langston 171, Glenn Wise 78, and Sara Bailes Power 20. Library trustee winner Mrs. C Edward Busch ran unopposed with 506 votes. Dale Thomas won the unexpired library trustee seat with 475 votes. Three write ins were cast for the library post.

In Umatilla five incumbents face no opposition and are reelected as mayor and council members. Mayor Edward Emint reelected along with County Clerk Clyde Vavehin and Councilmen JE Brown Joh Nelson Jr and C S Stephens Jr. A total of 88 votes were cast from 650 registered voters. Terms run two years except city clerk at one year due to charter change. Write in votes for mayor J E Brown and Mrs Betty Jo Morehead for council member.
