He recounts a Eureka incident where a Richmond Company superintendent suggested unloading directly at the refinery, likening it to ore once mined at the Gila mine in the Reveille district, Nye County.

Peace conference maps Adriatic settlement for Fiume
The Paris peace talks propose a compromise plan to resolve the Adriatic dispute. Fiume would be a free state with a free port, Dalmatian mainland mostly under Jugoslav sovereignty except Zara as a free port, and Avropa with surrounding territory under Italian rule. Italy would gain a mandate over Albania except Epirus to Greece. D Annunzio’s seizure pressures Italy as the government weighs a land and sea blockade to starve his 10,000 regulars and allied volunteers into submission.
