Right Rev Bishop Scanlan Visits Eureke for Confirmation
The Right Rev L Scanlan Bishop of the Galt Lake diocese arrived in Eureke last Saturday for a pastoral visit to St Breedan's parish to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation. Instructors Miss Anos Lacey Mrs F C Henderson and John J Lavey prepared candidates who passed the Christian Doctrine examination with praise. The Bishop celebrated Mass and presided at Benediction, delivering an eloquent sermon on Catholic rites and doctrine. He confirmed many boys and girls while noting the parish’s floral adornments and the devoted instructors efforts.
