Short Course in Prospecting at Mackay School of Mines
The Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada offers a four week February 1915 short course in prospecting open to Nevada residents and all state citizens. It costs five dollars for supplies. instruction is free. Lectures cover Excavation, Prospecting, Mineralogy, Geology of Mineral Deposits, Assaying, Gas Engines, First Aid, Mining Law with Professors Lincoln Jones Palmer Powers Boyd and Mr Price. Ore shipments from White Pine district resume amid war demand
The Ely Expositor reports continued ore shipments from two White Pine district properties centered on Hamilton. From the Jennie A mine J. W. Nyce oversees ore extraction and wagon transport down the mountain to Eureka, with multiple teams in service. The Hamilton Power Mining and Transportation Co. has resumed operations on the Grand Prize group, packing ore to the ore summit and hauling to Eureka with four and six horse teams. The firm employs many men and expects uninterrupted work.

Potatoes Dug By New Farm Machine In Grand Rapids
George Kreigher of Grand Rapids has built a horse drawn potato digging machine that digs cleans and hoists potatoes into the wagon. A second contrivance sacks the potatoes. The unit is operated by one man who only drives the horse.

Nevada farmers produced 803000 tons of hay in 1914 up from 646000 tons the prior year. The season yields 3.26 tons per acre, with an average price of 10.30 dollars per ton and quality 2 percent above the ten year average. The 1914 Nevada yield per acre leads all states.
