Eureka to Carlin travel made impossible by storm
Eiko Indepe lay 26.-J. B. Fitzgerald and or Johnson of this city returned i at night from Eureka where they spent the past few days on business. The two Eiko men made the trip over via the Sadler ranch and essayed the return trip by way of Carlin. Upon reaching the bridge near Carlin they found the high water within several yards of the approach of the bridge to be from two to three feet deep and impassable for cars. The car of Tom Plummer of Eureka was fast in the river, its driver having tried to cross the stream at that point. Fitzgerald and Johnson returned to Union where they took the branch road to Palisade. They report the Eureka road in poor condition due to the passage over it of many big trucks.
