Goldfield Nevada May 20. Three young women from New York City request the Esmeralda County Sheriff’s help to find Nevada farm husbands. In a letter dated May 8 1911 the women Dorothy Teller Sarah Tennen and Estelle Teller state their desire for Western ranch life and ask for information on respectable men in town. Their ages are 20 21 and 18.
The 2620 acre Butler ranch near Bishop Inyo County California was sold last week to Wade Chance of New York City for about 150000. B C Van Bekkelin of Los Angeles acted as agent. Chance plans to represent an Eastern group of capitalists eyeing large scale farming in the valley. J L Butler previously bought the Bowen ranch after fortunes made in Tonopah mines and the Butler family will move to Southern California.
June 11 marks the start of a daily Junited service between St Louis and San Francisco. The train will use solid Pullmans and travel via the Western Pacific from Salt Lake as officials align timetables. The Southern Pacific Union Pacific San Francisco Overland Limited will cut a half day from its San Francisco to Chicago time, reducing travel to about 68 hours from 72.
The Anaconda Copper Mining Company discloses the sale price of the Butte mines once held by former Senator W. A. Clark. The annual meeting report confirms a consideration of 5,000,000 dollars, a transfer announced six months prior.
Farmers Mining Company invites bids for supplying cordwood char coal and lime in quantities at the mouth of the Prospect Mountain Tunnel below the Silver Conner mine. Bids should be sent to Farmers Missing Company Eureka Nevada.
