Irwin Canyon to Erect Stamp Mill for Esmeralda Gold
Paul Irwin with Ralph and Fred L. Irwin traveled from Irwin Canyon to Ely seeking parts for a stamp mill planned on the Esmeralda group. The plant, one of two Tonopah built mills, aims to process ore at high capacity. No. 1 shaft yields 0 to 50 ounces per ton. No. 2 shaft shows four feet of ore valued at 41 dollars per ton. A 1000 pound ore dump sample milled in Tonopah produced 110 dollars per ton. Mill hoped running by March 15. Zeb Kendall faces questions over his Panama-Pacific Exposition appointment and possible constitutional conflict.
