Proceedings of Commissioners March Meeting in Eureka County
The Eureka County Board of County Commissioners met March 7 with Commissioners Fraser Paroni and McNaughton, Clerk and District Attorney present. They reviewed treasury funds, discussed road work near Stove House, ownership for a proposed jail site at Beowawe, and a deed from Central Pacific for abandoned road bed. The board plans to use part of the road bed for a wagon road to Gerald and Boowoane from Palisade in spring. They declined a request to fund road repair from J. P. Raine ranch to the county line, citing early season timing. They invited Southern Pacific officials to inspect alleged wagon road damage between Beowawe and Shoshone. The board ordered Assessor W. J. Hooper to pay $60 in uncollected 1903 poll taxes and urged stricter future collection, citing Nevada Revised Statutes.
