The Elko County High School board awarded a contract for a new county high school and dormitory to an Oakland firm for 106053 dollars. Building starts in 15 days and must be finished in 200 days. Two Are Killed in Auto Mishap at Silver Creek

Two men died in an early morning car wreck near Silver Creek in White Pine County last Wednesday. Earl Robinson, 22, and Leonard Holman of Oasis Utah, were trapped under the wrecked vehicle after it overturned and plunged down an embankment. They were dead when found and shipped to Utah for burial. Local crops and ranges in Elko County are reported excellent with water ditches full and a likely big harvest.

Red Cross Plan Aims Monthly State Support

A plan to raise 15,000 dollars monthly for Red Cross work in Nevada was outlined by the Red Cross commission of the State Defense Council. Governor Boyle appointed the commission. George B. Thatcher chairs. The plan calls for 25 cents per month from every man and fixed monthly sums from businesses, aiming to start around August 1.
