Eureka mining news reports Ruby Hill and nearby mines expanding ore shipments to Salt Lake, with 200 tons daily planned from the Eureka Con to reach Cambrian limestone deposits. The Ruby Hill Development Co plans to drill deeper, improve pumping, and exploit new ore bodies as prep for a July 4–6 town celebration with racing, dancing, and a visit from the Austin ball club.

Auto Thief Captured After Quick Ride To Ranch

J W Eastman gained entry to the Nostrosa garage at 3 am and stole Frank Nostrosa’s Ford, pushing it to Buel street before engine trouble halted progress. He sold the car for 225 dollars to a ranch man, then fled toward Beowane station. pursued by Nostrosa and deputy sheriff, he surrendered near Cortez and recovered the vehicle. The thief, Kastan, admits motive and pleads guilty.

State Board to Decide Water Disputes

Carson City June 22 Over 1000 contested water rights along the Humboldt river will be adjudicated by a board of two State Engineer Office representatives and two from each district. Verdict finds Laird rightful water rights in Water Canyon case

Nick Ratto sued Wilfian Laird over irrigation waters in Water Canyon claiming damages of 6500. The jury ruled Laird holds the first right to the entire flow of waters and to turn all waters from Ratto’s ditch into the reservoir after lands and crops were irrigated. Two other verdicts denied damages to either side.

Tybo Camp Resumes Activity With New Mill in Nevada
