Young rider survives fall after horse slips in hole
George ImObersteg, son of Mr and Mrs F Obersteg, was thrown from a horse in hills north of town last Monday. The horse sank into a badger hole, pinning George's right foot and leg. Though initially feared broken, doctors found no fractures and expect a quick recovery after minor treatment.

Lightfoot Tour Sees Frequent Breakdowns on Short Trip
A. B. Lightfoot, district deputy state superintendent of schools, traveled with his wife and children from Ru reke to Ely with a farm wagon acting as a trailer. Four breakdowns occurred during the few hundred miles, despite the buggy’s 10,000 mile prior record without incident. The buggy is undergoing overhauls at the Ely Wagon and Carriage shop and will be ready for its next appearance.
