The Eureka Theatre hosted the Eureka County High School graduation ceremony on a festively decorated stage. Principal Josaph Dickinson and other officials presented diplomas as the class performed in polished voices, concluding with a farewell dance and a late reception.
Balloting for the Republican presidential nomination began in Chicago with four ballots and adjournment. The convention has 984 delegates, needing 493 votes for nomination, with results shown for the first and seventh ballots.
Tonopah Times reports Prof J F Winneur plans to form a school orchestra at Bebigh School Tonopah. The group will begin with 40 members drawn from Meh School pupils and local grade students. Enrollment will be open to eligible students up to ten years old.
The Winnemucca Star reports the organization meeting of the new Bank of Eureka and Merchants National Bank. J Sheehan is president with J B Blair and Walter Handley as vice presidents and C J Travers cashier. The building is being remodeled and will open July 1. the brick building in the Courthouse block on South Main Street is involved.
Mining reports from Eureka-Prince and adjacent mines show high grade ore being mined at Adama Hill and upper levels, with shipments likely from the 600 foot level. New equipment includes semi diesel oil engines, a ventilating plant at Prospect Mountain tunnel, and a hoist on the Croesus winze, while extensions near the Standard shaft are producing ore for shipment.
Eighth grade graduates Henry Evans Thomas Pastorino Margaret Laird Annie Pratt Mabel Moore Rae Rogantini received diplomas from Eu reka Public School under Mrs. Christye MacGillivray after passing an examination by the board, meeting the average for high school entrance.

Eureka’s Fourth of July committee reports progress on a proud celebration with ample funds from a successful financial drive. The Baseball Team invites Austin and Ruby Valley for games on the fourth and fifth. horse races, foot races, bucking, drills and other sports are planned. The Rescue Hose Company will host a dancing pavilion and annual dance on the sixth, inviting all to join in patriotic festivities.
Local brief notes confirm a new daily train out of Eureka starting June 10. The contractor F A Delany received a cartload of mixed lumber by Friday’s train. Various residents and visitors travel between Eureka Salt Lake City Mineral Hill and Grass Valley Cal. Local business news includes a Dodge truck delivery to Eureka Cash Store and a visit by P Robson of the American Railway Express.
Evangelist Rev A K R Dowe conducts revival meetings at the Presbyterian church with high attendance and strong praise. He blends bible lessons with worldly knowledge and anecdotes, drawing wide curiosity. Closest services run Thursday and Saturday nights at 7 45 and Sunday morning at 11 with baptism offered to children and adults. The meetings will conclude Eureka church plans and invites all to attend.
The Denver firm BE A Stephens & Co offered prizes from one to fifty dollars for letters and photographs of furs or trapped animals. Fred B. Crofut of Diamond Valley submitted photos and a note, earning the top prize of fifty dollars this week.
Mrs King of Jerome Idaho left by Monday's train returning to Idaho after visiting her Eureka relatives. W R Gray retires as Eureka Nevada railway agent, replaced by George W Laird with several options under consideration. Vincent Pici ninni six horse team pulling ore collided with gasoline tanks but no damage. George Wolford, a meat cutter, injured by a rib fracture while slaughtering a beef. Rescue Hose Company plans to incorporate The Rease Hose Company No 1 Hall Association and build a new hall by July 5. Mrs Hugh Chisholm, formerly Jesse McRae, visits Eureka en route to Nova Scotia after attending her daughter's funeral in San Francisco.
Washington reports that the U S mints will accept American silver at one dollar per ounce if refineries segregate American from foreign silver. Treasury and comptroller officers weigh legality and miners want a fixed dollar price for silver sold to the government, amid global demand shifts and German and Indian silver coin meltings.
Reno officials report Nevada Mine Operators Association discussing silver market effects on mine operators. John G Kirchen and Henry M Rives chosen to represent Nevada at a San Francisco conference to seek mint price settlement of one dollar per ounce. Smelters to be represented, Ray T Baker to preside. Officials expect an adjustment granting producers the Government price without smelter sharing.

The Sophomores hosted a June 4 farewell for the Seniors with a lively party. Hall decor matched Senior colors pink and blue and the supper featured pink punch and blue tinted frosting.
