Residents May Cut Timber From Public Lands

Under Department of the Interior rules California and Nevada residents may cut timber from vacant public lands for firewood fencing building or other agricultural mining manufacturing or domestic use. Timber up to 50 dollars in value per 12 months may be cut without an application but must be within the state. Notice of intention to cut timber must be filed with the Chief of San Francisco Field Division on a blank form obtainable free of charge.
