Miners detained on road between Winnemucca and national
iBemacon officers stopped several mining men on the road between Winnemucesa and Nation al Saturday afternoon. They searched the men and found nothing but a single high grade specimen in one pocket. Scotty had been showing properties and returning to Winnemucesa. Police had heard Scotty had two burros loaded with stolen high grade and was headed for Beowawe.

Power Plant Destroyed Near Tuscarora After Lightning Strike
A lightning strike last week destroyed the Jack Creek power plant supplying electricity to the Dexter mill and nearby mines in Tuscarora Elko County. Built years ago for about 50000 dollars the plant overhaul under H M Haskins last winter cannot now prevent mill and mine shutdowns until rebuilt. About fifty men work at the Dexter and the mine dewatering continues from a separate steam plant. Lost glasses found request. Location notices and legal sale blanks available at the Sentinel office.
