Eureka Sentinel Hit by Engine Breaks News Saturday
Palisade visitor JKR Jewell and many Eureka residents are noted in a week of travel and local activity. Detectives from Southern Pacific and Oregon Short Line visited Eureka for district court sessions while mining engineers and investors arrived for work on Bald Mountain near White Pine County. A troublesome freight run from Palende left late with engine trouble, a broken wire disrupted the Eureka Ely line, and repairs restored service.
