Guggenheim Merger Likely Defeated In Nevada Copper Battle

Indications show dwindling activity in the contest between the Guggenheims and the Nevada Consolidated Copper opposition faction over Utah Copper absorbing Nevada. No reply from Guggenheims to a broadside, and experts expect minimal further action until the March 5 exchange deadline. James Phillips Jr. may have blocked the merger with far less than half of Nevada stock to Utah, while Guggenheim delegates depart for Mexico Chile and Europe. A quiet market struggle between pro and anti merger interests is anticipated until shares are exchanged.
