Hetty Green on Rescue and Vanderbilt Drama in Boston

American Girl Theodora Shonts Weds French Nobleman

Miss Theodora Shonts daughter of Theodore P. Shonts former Isthmian Canal Commission chief married Manuel Theodorie Bernard D Albert De Luynes at noon on February 15 at the Shonts home. Monsignor Lavelle officiated with Miss Marguerite Shonts as attendant and Prince Andre Galitzine as best man. The ceremony featured ivory duchess satin and lace veil, with roses and lilies in the decor. The groom, 29, comes from a premier French noble family with a Paris house and hereditary castle. Shonts, now president of the Interborough Metropolitan Company, is rumored to have arranged a $300,000 settlement with the groom after the ceremony.

Railroads Face Final Briefs in Nevada Rate Cases

Chairman Bartine of the Railroad Commission filed the last brief in five Nevada rate cases. The railroads have 15 days to submit reply briefs, after which Judge Farrington will decide.
