Death of Mabel Bouton Actress Passes In New York

Mabel Bouton, actress and sister of three famous stage performers, died of consumption on February 4 at Flower Hospital in New York after weeks as an inmate. Born in Reno, Nevada, she was shipped to Salt Lake for interment. Once promising on stage, her health and means declined. Nevada's Opportunity for Santa Fe Railway Extension

The Mining and Scientific Press reports Santa Fe plans extend the California and Eastern line from Goff's station in eastern San Bernardino County northward toward Manuel, Nevada. Engineers are active in southern Nevada, with potential connects to Salt Lake. The route would boost local mines by lowering transport costs for high grade ore and enabling ore to be hauled for processing, benefiting fuel, supplies, timber, and distant operations within thirty to fifty miles of the line.
