Federal Grand Jury in Kansas City indicts express agents across Kansas and Texas for shipping liquor into prohibition states. Arrests reported as agencies for liquor firms, with sealed parcels to fictitious addressees. Agents earned 50 cents per case, defrauding revenue and undermining prohibition laws.

Florence Maybrick the American wife of James Maybrick, once condemned for murder, was freed January 26 on special license from Aylesbury Prison. She will stay in a remote home under a nunly care until July when her punishment ends and she may be freed subject to ticket of leave rules. The Duchess of Bedford aided the relief, and the Home Office agreed but kept the pledge of secrecy.
The Grand Chapter at Albany expelled Mount Zion Chapter Royal Arch Masons of New York from the rolls after the Shang Draper case, banning the proposer and the investigative committee and the officers who conferred the degrees from membership.
